Wellbeing Walk Smith Square Hall

11th July 2025

We kicked off our wellbeing walks programme on July 10 with a trip across the river to Smith Square Hall, Westminster, home of Sinfonia Smith Square. A group of thirteen wellbeing walkers were given a short history of the venue by Building Services Manager Chris Hartwell, followed by tea and cake in the crypt, and a lunchtime concert performed by Sinfonia Smith Square.
The programme previewed what the orchestra will be performing in Tuscany the following week. We’ve had really positive feedback from the group. It was a great opportunity for a get-together and chat, and our enthusiastic group are keen to do more walks, and more lunchtime concerts.  One of our walkers now wishes to take up the violin!
Here are some of the comments we’ve since received:
‘Thank you so much. It was a great day’
‘Thanks for organising the walk last week.  It was enjoyable, and I did like meeting familiar and new people. I also enjoyed the orchestra and would like to take up playing the violin. I look forward to joining you on future events.’
‘Thanks for organising these, I’m looking forward to more!’
Kennington Park Walk
In addition to this we organised a more local walk to Kennington Park this week. The group of six, which included two people new to the walking group, were treated to a tour of the Bee Urban London hives, located behind Collective cafe in Kennington Park, where they watched the beekeeper harvesting local honey.
‘Thanks to you I had a wonderful day out, very thorough poetic for me.  We went to see the Beehive amazing work.’
