24th February 2026
On 12 February, we welcomed Lambeth’s unpaid carers for a special day of activities, information sharing, and wellbeing support. Working in partnership with Lambeth, who sponsor our Ageing Well project, the event gave carers an opportunity to take time for themselves while learning about the support available to them.
Carers were invited to try our hugely popular Band Together class – a seated exercise session using resistance bands set to uplifting music. The class offered a fun and accessible way to get active and proved very popular.
Creative activities were also on offer, with Fulham Memories delivering two arts and crafts sessions that were enthusiastically received by participants.
Alongside the activities, carers were able to access a range of advice and support services. The Carers Hub and Age UK provided information on benefits and signposted carers to additional sources of support. The Lambeth Wellbeing Bus team offered blood pressure checks and helped direct people to appropriate health services across the borough, while an advisor was available to provide guidance on stopping smoking.
Around 60 unpaid carers attended the event, enjoying a free lunch and refreshments while taking the opportunity to prioritise their own wellbeing. Many also made the most of the drop-in advice sessions, exercise classes, and creative workshops.
The day was a great opportunity to showcase our regular programme of activities to those visiting our centre for the first time.
BPT would like to thank Lambeth Public Health, The Carers Hub, Fulham Memories, the Wellbeing Bus team, Age UK, and Charmaine Scott-Obeyne for helping make the day such a successful and enjoyable event for Lambeth’s unpaid carers.
