During February Half Term, London Screen Academy (LSA) put on a very special event in collaboration with BPT, inviting a group of our young participants to their site in Islington for a filmmaking workshop.
LSA is a fantastic free sixth form, designed to get more young people from diverse backgrounds into all aspects of the screen industry. BPT has recently formed a partnership with LSA, in order to give our young people more exposure and opportunities in this sector.
We took a group of young people aged 12 to 16, who had expressed interest around working in film. On arrival, our group was given a tour of the amazing facilities at LSA, before taking part in a workshop dedicated to filmmaking. Our participants were split up into teams and tasked with creating their own short film, using the top-level equipment provided. Needless to say, all the kids were blown away by the amazing site and everyone very inspired by the opportunities on offer there.
A massive thank you to the brilliant LSA staff who not only delivered an amazing workshop, but also for inviting us to their site and for making us feel so welcome. We look forward to developing our partnership with LSA and can’t wait for our next event with them!
