We were contacted early in the year by the Mayors Fund for London around being the host venue and partners on a large-scale event for their sponsor and partner Bloomberg. This was part of the #BOBlympics, to celebrate the company’s remarkable philanthropic culture while also a chance for employees to work with beneficiaries of Bloomberg’s support.
The event was a Multisport team event where employees of the company participated in different sporting challenges with local young people, accompanied by a formal medal ceremony and food. The event saw 80 Bloomberg employees, 26 of our young people and a further 20 young people from The Kitchen Social Hub (CEF Lyncx (cefi.org.uk)split into teams all themed around countries participating in the Olympics and led by 15 leaders from Mayors Fund for London.
Our partners QPA and Fight4Change as well as basketball coaches Jayson and Tyrell were on hand to deliver a fun and engaging afternoon of different challenges giving each team a chance to score points. The young people had a fantastic afternoon and were treated to t-shirts, water bottles, wristbands and hats as well as top three placing teams receiving medals. There were prizes given for the young people who displayed expectational teamwork, enthusiasm and effort throughout the day and a selection of free hot dogs to round off what was a fantastic day for all.
