The Black Prince Trust is thrilled to announce the success of its fundraising campaign as part of The Big Give’s “Champions for Children Campaign” run in partnership with The Childhood Trust across a fortnight in June. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, we exceeded our £8,000 target — raising almost £9,000 including Gift Aid to support our work with children and young people in Lambeth.
In the lead-up to the campaign, we pledged to invest the funds in essential equipment for our free sport and physical activity sessions, and to support the development of new targeted programmes tailored to the needs of local children and young people.
With the target not only met but surpassed, we fully intend to extend our wrap-around care for young people, creating a homework club with computers, desk space and hopefully Tutor support for young people who want to focus on homework between school and youth sessions they take part in at BPT.
Commenting on the outcome, Black Prince Trust CEO Richard Joyce said:
“We’re absolutely blown away by the support we received. Exceeding our target is a testament to the belief our community has in what we do. These funds will make a real, tangible difference — supporting our free to user youth offer and expanding our support to wrap-around care supporting their education. Thank you to everyone who backed us.”
We’d like to thank all our supporters, partners, and the team at The Big Give and The Childhood Trust for making this possible. We are particularly grateful to partners Vauxhall One, Foundry, Trinorth, Surrey Cricket and The Jolly Gardeners for their pre-campaign pledges to match donations from the campaign. Together, we are creating opportunities and changing lives.
