As part of our ongoing partnership with Jordan Brand, the Black Prince Trust was proud to host the UK pre-qualifier for “The One” Jordan Brand’s global one-on-one basketball tournament that showcases some of the world’s most promising young talent.
Held at The Regal, the event welcomed 16 boys and 8 girls, who competed in a day of high-quality basketball for the opportunity to progress to the next stage of the competition. The standard of play was outstanding and highlighted the exciting talent emerging across the UK basketball community.
“The One” is a global tournament taking place in more than 20 cities across North America, Europe, and Asia, with successful players progressing towards the Global Finals in Shanghai. The winners of both the boys’ and girls’ competitions at The Regal secured their place in the London Final on 11 July, taking another step on their journey in this prestigious international competition.
Hosting events of this calibre continues to strengthen our partnership with Jordan Brand while reinforcing the Black Prince Trust’s commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for young people through sport. It also demonstrates The Regal’s growing reputation as a leading venue for elite basketball events and player development.
Beyond the competition itself, bringing internationally recognised events such as “The One” to the Black Prince Trust plays an important role in raising the profile of basketball within our community. By welcoming national and international events to our courts, we continue to inspire the next generation of players, increase the visibility of the sport, and showcase the positive impact basketball can have in bringing communities together.
