BPT are recruiting volunteers for our School Summer Holiday Sports programme.

If you are interested in sport, supporting young people or have administration skills and have some time to offer on weekdays between 25th July to 26th August 2022, we could have the perfect opportunity for you.

During the 2022 summer, BPT will be to offering a 5-week summer holidays programme to local residents ages 8-18. From 10.30am to 3.30pm, we will have a variety of free sporting activities for our young residents. Activities will span from basketball and boxing to football, fitness and multisports. These activities will be in addition to our regular sessions which run throughout the year and will continue to run during the summer holidays period. As well as our physical activities, this year we are planning to deliver short workshops, 30 mins each, on important topics such as nutrition and healthy eating, employment, and mental health. As usual, BPT will also be giving out healthy lunch, approx. 80 meals per day, to everyone attending.

In order to deliver this 50+ hours of activities, per week, programme, more than ever BPT will need the support of the community therefore we are currently looking for volunteers to help us during the summer.

We require volunteers to help with:

  • Booking participants in on arrival
  • Assist in delivering sports sessions (qualifications may be required)
  • Distribution of free lunches
  • Supporting staff in our onsite café
  • Noting enquiries from parents and guardians and passing to relevant staff member
  • Setting up and clearing down sports equipment for sessions

Volunteers will be fully supported by our professional qualified coaches and the BPT staff team, gaining valuable experience, based on our 2.5-acre sports HUB in Vauxhall.  They will also receive free lunch, free kit, and reimbursement for travel expenses. At the end of the programme, we are able to offer a full skills and experience reference, which can be used in personal statements, CV and job applications.
